For many people, pontoon boats are where some of their best summer memories are made. They’re where families spend long afternoons swimming at the sandbar, friends gather for sunset cruises, and weekends slow down just enough to enjoy being out on the water.

That’s exactly the lifestyle Greg Dorothy has built Pontoon Life around.

What started as a fun social media page has grown into a thriving community of more than 50,000 pontoon enthusiasts who share a love for boating, discovering new places, and making the most of every day on the water. Based in Meredith, New Hampshire, Greg has created one of the only brands dedicated entirely to pontoon boating, and that’s one of the many reasons we’re proud to partner with him.

A Community Built for Pontoon Boaters

Unlike most boating pages that cover a little bit of everything, Pontoon Life is all about… well, pontoons!

Greg shares everything from the latest boats and accessories to marina spotlights, safety tips, and practical advice for getting the most out of life on the water. Whether you’re shopping for your first pontoon or looking for your next favorite boating destination, there’s always something to learn or discover.

That passion has even grown beyond social media. Greg also founded Waterways Social, a marketing company that helps marinas build their online presence and connect with more boaters. “Our goal is to support the entire pontoon industry,” Greg says. “From manufacturers and marinas to third-party brands, we’re here to help everyone grow.”

Why Pontoon Life and Argo Work So Well Together

Greg first met Argo founder Jeff years ago, back when Argo was still getting started.

“I loved the startup mentality that Jeff had,” Greg says. “It reminded me a lot of what we’re building with Pontoon Life.”

Today, that partnership is built around a shared goal: helping people have better days on the water. Greg’s content inspires people to explore new lakes, visit different marinas, and spend more time boating. Argo helps make those adventures easier by giving boaters the tools they need to navigate safely, plan trips, and discover new destinations.

Greg doesn’t just recommend Argo; he uses it too. Last summer, he spent countless hours helping improve navigation around Lake Winnipesaukee by mapping missing buoys, making the experience better for fellow boaters exploring one of New England’s most popular lakes. To us, that’s what a great partnership looks like. It’s not just about promoting each other’s brands; it’s about making boating better for everyone.

Helping Boaters Discover What’s New

One thing Greg has noticed over the years is that boaters are always looking for ways to improve their time on the water.

“I think there are a lot of companies, like Argo, that are trying to change the game,” he says.

Whether he’s reviewing a new product, sharing safety reminders, or highlighting a marina worth visiting, Greg has earned his audience’s trust by staying honest. His goal isn’t simply to promote products; it’s to help fellow boaters make informed decisions and enjoy their time on the water even more. Before wrapping up our conversation, I asked Greg if he had one piece of advice for boaters heading out for the day. His answer was simple.

“Make sure you’re prepared with all of your required safety equipment.”

He also reminded us to double-check that everyone on board has a properly fitting life jacket and to always have a designated driver if alcohol is part of the day’s plans.

Greg’s Perfect Day on the Water

When Greg isn’t creating content or working with marinas through Waterways Social, you’ll probably find him on Lake Winnipesaukee with his family. His perfect boating day isn’t complicated. It starts at the sandbar, where the kids can jump in and swim. Then it’s lunch at a favorite waterfront restaurant, an afternoon of tubing, and a slow cruise around the lake before heading home. Honestly, it sounds like the kind of day most of us picture when boating season finally arrives. It’s also what Pontoon Life has always been about, not just pontoon boats, but the memories you make on them.
