This Privacy Policy is part of the Terms of Use (or Terms) between Argo Navigation LLC (Argo) and You.
By registering your account for the Service, you agree to the Terms. You also agree to that personal data related to you is processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
User privacy is very important to Argo. Read this policy carefully, if you cannot agree with the Terms, please do not register with the Service.
Argo reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most recent revision shall supersede any earlier versions.
2. INFORMATION COLLECTION
Argo is responsible for the processing of your personal data in accordance with this policy and relevant national and international data protection regulations.
It is voluntary to register with the Service and you have the right to at any time cancel your account by contacting Argo. Please see contact information below.
When you create an account, you will be requested to provide Argo with personal information such as your name and email address. Additionally, the Service may collect additional information such as: your contacts, camera access, etc.
The Service automatically uses various technologies to determine your location, such as location services of the applicable operating system and sensor data from your device that may, for example, provide information on nearby Wi-Fi-access points and cell towers.
The location information from your mobile device is used to tailor the Service experience to your current location. Also, the Service may use your mobile device’s ‘background location’ services to send you notifications. If you have ‘background location’ turned on, the Service will record your device’s location but only if you have started and are recording a track or on a voyage within Argo.
Argo may also use anonymized historical location information to improve the Service. If you as a user send questions to Argo, this information will also be saved and used by Argo to resolve your inquires, and for Argo’s own internal resolutions.
3. USE OF INFORMATION
The collected information is saved and used to administer your account, to maintain a good user and customer care and to optimize and develop the Service.
Argo also uses the information to better target content that is relevant to any particular user or group of users. Argo will only process the personal data mentioned for the purposes of the Terms and this Privacy Policy. This includes using the gathered information to service you, perform research regarding the usage of the Service and improve the Service. Argo will not sell this information, rent it or exchange it with any third party, except when required by law or when necessary in a business transaction.
The information may also be used to send you tailored news and updates through the Service as well as marketing offers. If you no longer wish that Argo sends you news/updates or marketing and/or tailored offers you may change your settings in your Service profile or as otherwise instructed by Argo.
The registered personal data will not be saved longer then what is necessary for the purpose of the processing or allowed under the relevant national or international privacy laws.
You agree to provide Argo with accurate information and to keep said information updated.
By contacting Argo through the contact information below, you will be able to get information about what personal data Argo has registered on you. You will also upon request be able to change or update that data or require that unnecessary data is removed.
You will have an option to delete from the app any contact data obtained from Facebook or your phone’s Contacts.
With regard to the information you post on the Service, you may at any time change your privacy settings in order to control who can see your information. Please refer to article 6 of the Terms.
We will retain your information and personal data on behalf of our clients for as long as your account is active. We will also retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
There will be no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We will filter objectionable content and act within 24 hours by removing the content and ejecting the user who provided the offending content. Mechanisms are also in place for the user to flag objectionable content and to block abusive users.
4. COOKIES
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device’s internal memory.
This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the Service may use third party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.
4. PROTECTING USER INFORMATION
Argo endeavors to protect your information. However, Argo cannot guarantee the security of user account information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors, may compromise the security of your account information.
As a user you should be aware that once you have published information online, cached versions indexed by search engines and other sites, that information cannot be deleted by you or by Argo.
Argo may include links to other sites whose privacy practices may differ from ours. If you submit personal information to any of those sites, your information is governed by their privacy policies.
